The ticketing hounds from yesterday’s October Premier Races. Well done to everyone. The Executive Committee would like to thank the South Lakes Area for hosting the races, it was a great days racing.

A fantastic £745 was raised in aid of Cancer Research at yesterday’s races at Carret Rigg.

Marti and Mary would like to extend their thanks to the main sponsors – Chris Reid of Border Forestry, Langholm Paper Shop, Elliot Butchers Copshaw and everyone else who kindly donated.
Big thanks to the Elliot family for use of their land and to Hamish, Lee and Andrew for battling the elements to get the races laid.
Thanks to the ladies in the tea van and all the people who attended and kindly helped out on the day, it was all very much appreciated

REGISTRATION FORMS – Registration forms can be downloaded and printed from the webpage. Click on the HOME page and then scroll down to IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS click the link and it will take you to the IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS for the Association and then click the link on the box for REGISTRATION FORMS.

I will print some forms off and will have them with me at the races over the next few weeks if people are unable to download and print their own forms.

As we approach the end of the season can those who won trophies last year please start to return these to the respective Promoters please so that arrangements can be made to get them cleaned and engraved where necessary.

Whitehaven Area Presentation will take place on the Friday 27th November 2026 at the Catholic Club at Egremont – 7-7.30pm entertainment and Buffet -further details to follow.

Cockermouth and Workington Area Presentation will take place on the Saturday 14th November at the Seaton Rugby League Club 7.00pm – Presentation, Race Night and Buffet – furth details to follow

Area AGM’s – for all Association members to attend and contribute to discussion and any changes proposed either through Notice of Motions or Recommendations. All Notice of Motions being put forward need to be with the Secretary at least three days in advance of the meeting date.

Whitehaven Area AGM – Monday 2nd November at the Catholic Club at Egremont – 7.00pm

Carlisle and Penrith Area AGM – Tuesday 3rd November venue/time to be confirmed

Cockermouth and Workington Area AGM – Wednesday 4th November at the Seaton Rugby League Club – 7.00pm

South Lakes Area AGM – Monday 9th November at the Heron Pub, Kendal – 7.30pm

All Area December Meeting – will take place on the 6th December at the Braithwaite Village Hall at 1.00pm

Association AGM will take place on the 7th February 2027 at Hundith Hill Hotel, Cockermouth

Just a reminder that anyone attending the races on Sunday at Loweswater Show, the entrance fee to the races is the usual £4 which gets you in to the races only, parking will be sign posted up to the left where we normally park. Anyone who wishes to attend the show field can get a lolly pop stick from the entry car and this will give you entrance to the show at a reduced price (normal price £8) but you will be able to get in for £4. There will also be limited refreshments on the actual race field itself (tea/coffee/cakes).

Sports Day – 30 August

Free Entry will be by the North Gate on the A591, thats the first gate you come to if travelling from Keswick. There’ll be Crook YFC on that gate to welcome you. Usual parking place by the main road.

Entry to the field is free so you don’t need any tickets to get in. If any vehicles go in through other gates they will get charged so please ensure that you use this gate only. Pedestrians won’t get charged regardless of gate. All you need to do is to say to the “greeters” that you are “With the HRA” and that’s it!
